A phobia is an irrational fear which has been 'symbolically attached' to an object, or situation, which causes little or no real danger.
Whether its spiders, birds, dentists, flying or something else, a phobia can have a profound impact on your life.
In some cases it can hold you back from doing the things you want to do, in others it can be terrifying and at times embarassing. There is usually a strong avoidance behaviour connected with the phobia, which will run alongside intense feelings of anxiety, panic and a feeling of loss of control.
Whichever way a phobia imacts on you, hypnotherapy can make a positive difference. Phobias can be easily helped using cognitive hypnotherapy techniques to help learn new behaviour patterns. This can include:
Changing the way you feel when you come into contact with the 'stimulus'.
Learning a new, more relaxed response and helping you to become much more calm in situations where you are likely to encounter the stimulus.
Uncovering the cause of the phobia, although this is not always necessary.
Teaching you how to feel more in control so you can be free of your fears and start to go where you want and do what you want!
Heights, fear of flying (aerophobia), fear of birds (ornithophobia), fear of spiders (arachnophobia), fear of social situations (social anxiety), fear of presenting (glossophobia), fear of being sick (emetophobia).
Those who suffer from IBS will tell you that it can ruin the quality of their lives.
IBS is an unexplained disturbance of the large bowel, it is often diagnosed after other possible disorders have been ruled out. It has been estimated that around a third of the adult population experiences IBS at some point in their lives.
Hypnotherapy is a proven treatment for IBS and helps people to gain relief from their suffering by feeling more in control of their symptoms.
I have been fully trained and I am a Certified Gut-Directed IBS Hypnotherapist and can help you to be more in control so you can gain relief from the symptoms. It normally takes a course of treatment to gain the most benefit.
IBS is commonly associated with emotional tension, is frequently triggered by life changes, difficult life situations or stressful life events.
With Hypnotherapy you can learn to be more in tune with your body. Your subconscious mind can learn new ways to deal with stressful and/or difficult situations.
It is also about building an understanding of how you are actually in control of your body much more than you realise and learning how to use this control more effectively.
IBS Hypnotherapy is a proven treatment for irritable bowel syndrome, approved by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (Nice), who have reported that there is significant evidence to show that hypnotherapy reduces pain caused by IBS.
When you can't sleep (insomnia) you know about it and often, so do the people you are closest to.
It can be difficult to identify what it is that is sabotaging your sleep especially when you are tired.
Lack of sleep can cause many problems not just tiredness. Irritability, lack of consentration, mood swings & memory issues to name just a few. It can impact on your work, social and personal life & cause havock with relationships.
First I would help by assessing your current health and bedtime routines to see if there are any physical reasons for the problem. If there are we can make a practical plan of how to remove or reduce the impact they have on your sleep.
Then we would look at your recent and past sleeping patterns. For some, its the getting to sleep that is the problem, for others its the staying asleep or early waking that is causing chaos & frustration, or maybe a combination.
The hypnosis session is designed to your needs as everyone is individual, each persons hypnosis session is different to the next. I usually use a combination of both hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) to help you to gain a sound and comfortable nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed.
I will give you the tools to use at home, so that you can learn to take control both now and into the future too. This way you can wake up refreshed on a regular basis, how nice will that be?
